Music

Music plays a role in our lives that is often difficult to fully explain, and yet easy to understand. We all know how music can stir our emotions or elicit memories by a single melody. We experience in our listening and in our participation (be it singing in the shower, or playing in a large orchestra) the reality that music does something in us. Music can change our mood, liven up a gathering, bring us to tears, make us want to jump up and dance. When we sing we are sharing not just the words of a song, but through carefully crafted melody, we share more than mere words.

In the context of worship, music plays a central role. All that can be said of how music can express for us the things we often cannot express through words, is especially true of our music in worship of God. Also, the words and melodies tell us, teach us, form us, and help us to express what we know to be true about the God we worship.

Our Traditional Service offers traditional hymns led by our Music Director and our Blended Worship Service offers a mix of contemporary Christian music and traditional worship songs, led by musicians and singers.

We have many different ways to serve:

• Praise Band performs at the Blended Worship Service, they practice on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm and on Sunday mornings at 9:30am.
• Several times during the year we will also have special music at both our Traditional and Blended Worship Services.
• We have Children Music Programs through out the year – singing, bells, Christmas Programs
